Partner deals and opens the dreaded (both by us and the opponents) mini-NT (10-12 HCP). Now, standard treatments would allow me to show a game going 5-4 hand in the majors, but I have always marched to my own beat and try Stayman instead, When partner denies a 4-card major, I settle for THREE NOTRUMP.
The soft underbelly of DIAMONDS is attacked (D4 led). Note that this hand is played by NORTH. Next Jeffrey plays a H to the J succesfully. Next comes a spade to the A, next a H to the Q perforce and the HK. Now comes the HT, dummy playing small, a diamond pitched by W. The spade break comes to light, as E pitches a heart on the spade to the King. The HA is cashed, another D pitch from W. Clubs pitched from S and by E. In the six card ending, a Club is led from the dummy, W playing the JACK, to declarer's ACE. Now with the endplay looming, E MUST pitch CK from CKQx hoping that his partner can win the next club and put a diamond through.
Instead he discards down to this position.

Now declarer, jeffrey, plays nicely, by exiting with a club, TWO clubs, CK, CQ are cashed but declarer must get a DIAMOND. Making 3NT. Note that FOUR SPADES would have no chance on the actual break.
